Mitchell was identified with ALS, a neurological illness that causes muscle weak spot and paralysis, in 2018 and had used a wheelchair since 2019.
“For 5 and a half years, Ken confronted a sequence of terrible challenges from ALS,” his obituary acknowledged. “And in truest Ken trend, he managed to rise above every one with grace and dedication to dwelling a full and joyous life in every second. He lived by the rules that every day is a present and that we by no means stroll alone. His life is a shining instance of how full one might be if you reside with love, compassion, humor, inclusion and group. Ken was an inspirational murals to all of the hearts he touched.”
Amongst these have been his pals and colleagues.
“Relaxation in peace, Ken. Was simply pondering of you,” Ethan Peck, who performs Spock on Star Trek: Discovery, commented on the obituary, utilizing an emoji of the Vulcans’ “Dwell Lengthy and Prosper” hand gesture.
And Jonathan Frakes, who directed a number of episodes within the sequence and performed William Riker on Star Trek: The Subsequent Technology, wrote, “Among the finest RIP.”
