German parliament votes in opposition to sending Taurus missiles to Ukraine


Germany’s parliament has rejected an opposition movement to ship Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has blocked shipments of the German-made missiles to Ukraine, citing fears that the long-range weapons may very well be used to strike inside Russia and doubtlessly escalate the battle.

The movement, put ahead by the centre-right CDU/CSU bloc, fell nicely in need of a majority, with solely 182 voting in favour and 480 in opposition to.
